Trip to the White Mountains

So we're finally back home from an amazing vacation away from home! For our anniversary, Brennon and I drove up to the White Mountains and rented a cute little cabin! It was so nice! The weather was perfect and I even got to wear my sweatshirt! I love sweatshirt weather!! Our first stop on the way up there was to go to Sunrise and ride mountain bikes down the ski slopes. When we got there, it was closed! Apparently this summer they aren't doing summer activities :( but that's ok, we ended up just going across the street and fishing at Sunrise Lake. The fish weren't biting AT ALL, but it was still fun. I got to take a bunch of pictures and got to watch Brennon do something he enjoys! It started to rain a little so we headed to our cabin. When we got there they decided to upgrade us to the honeymoon cabin!! It was so nice of them! Our cabin had a full kitchen and a jacuzzi tub and a little covered porch!

It was so pretty up there! I couldn't believe we were still in Arizona. It looked like we were in Montana....I've never been there but that's what I would guess it looks like! There was water everywhere!! So many rivers and they weren't just trickling, they were raging!! I want to go up there again and just take pictures!

One of the days we just drove around and explored. We drove to Alpine, which wasn't what we thought it would be, and then to some other town that I can't pronounce the name, and that was just a few neighborhoods and that was it. All of the towns up there are so small! And so green, there is so much water!

Our first night there we went out and had a really nice dinner. We went to this resort called The Peaks and it was probably the best dinner we've ever had! Brennon ordered the sirloin and I got some kind of chicken. Best chicken EVER! Who knew that the best steak and chicken you could ever have would come from Greer, AZ!

We pretty much just relaxed, explored, fished, ate, and watched the Olympics. It was the perfect getaway! It rained everyday around 1 in the afternoon and then again in the evening! We had a little covered porch with a swinging bench and just sat out there and watched the rain! It was so nice. Then in the morning, we would make some hot cocoa and go back out on the porch! I miss it already! We will definitely be going back! Next time we'll take Wrangler because we missed the little cutie pie! I took way too many pictures to post so here are just a few! Enjoy!

We went to Big Lake one day and rented a boat! It was fun, but again, we didn't catch any fish. I did catch two crawdads though!

This cabin was out in the middle of nowhere! We drove past it on our way to Big Lake. Totally secluded! The only thing we saw near it was a bunch of cows. That's it.
